Dental Bridges & Crowns in North Lakes
A simpler alternative to dentures and implants
Dental crowns and bridges serve a dual purpose as both restorative and cosmetic treatments. They will repair any damage to teeth whilst looking natural and feeling comfortable in your mouth. At Mango Hill Dental, we use only the best quality materials to make your crowns and bridges so you can be sure that they will last for many years to come.
Dental Crowns – Restore Your Smile
A dental crown is a natural-looking cap for your teeth, custom-made for you in a dental laboratory to ensure the perfect fit and colour match. Crowns are a great way to restore the strength of a tooth that has been weakened due to damage or decay. Once fitted, it will look and feel just like a natural tooth.
Dental Crown Procedure at Mango Hill
The first step towards fitting a crown is to reshape the existing tooth so that the cap can be securely fitted over the top of it. Once your dentist has completed this minor procedure, they will take an impression of the tooth which will be used to make your bespoke crown to be fitted at a later appointment.
Dental Bridges – A Simple Replacement for Missing Teeth
A dental bridge is simply a row of several crowns joined together which can be used to strengthen damaged teeth and fill spaces where teeth have been extracted or lost. Having a bridge fitted will give you a natural-looking, gap-free smile without having to use a denture. A bridge is made using the teeth on either side as a structural support rather than using an implant.
Dental Bridge Procedure at Mango Hill
In order to fit a bridge, your dentist will start by reshaping the teeth that will hold it in place. Once your teeth are the perfect shape, your dentist will take an impression of the area to be covered by the bridge in order for your bespoke device to be made. You’ll be given a temporary bridge to wear until the permanent one is ready, at which time you’ll return to the dentist to have it fitted.
Are Crowns or Bridges Right for Me?
We recommend crowns for patients looking to restore the natural appearance or function of a single tooth. Crowns are perfect to correct the look of a tooth that is cracked, chipped, weakened or heavily filled. A bridge is recommended for patients looking to repair teeth that are too damaged to hold fillings but the surrounding teeth remain strong.
