Routine Dental Exams In North Lakes

Prevention is better than cure

A routine dental exam is a crucial part of preventative dental care.

What is a Dental Exam?

A dental examination is akin to a regular check and clean.

During an oral examination, the dentist will check for tooth decay, tooth wear, cracks, erosion, gum disease and more, plus, they will also clean your teeth.

Your dentist may also discuss your oral cleaning habits such as flossing and brushing, as well as lifestyle habits such as smoking to make sure that you are taking good care of your dental health.

Procedure

During a dental examination, your dentist will clean your teeth. They will also:

  • Discuss lifestyle habits
  • Evaluate your jaw and bite in case there are problems
  • Discuss tooth restoration or replacement if needed
  • Discuss your risks of contracting tooth decay and gum disease
  • If necessary, demonstrate proper teeth and denture cleaning techniques

and evaluate your overall oral health

Frequency

As is always recommended, prevention is better than cure. We recommend a routine oral examination every 6 months.

Importance

A routine oral check-up is important because it provides you with information regarding your dental health. If there is an issue that needs treatment, a routine dental exam will uncover it.

At Mango Hill Dental, we pride ourselves on keeping our patients fully informed about their current dental situation and any short and long-term implications that might arise. We also believe in giving our patients all the options available to them so they can make an informed decision about their ongoing dental care.

We encourage routine dental exams, as it is important to be aware of your dental health.
